The Motherhood Café - Motherhood Beyond Expectations : Sharing and Celebrating the Resilience of Motherhood

  • Webster 150 Linden Avenue Lynchburg, VA, 24503 United States (map)

Often the journey of motherhood looks different than we expect. Specific challenges such as child loss or illness, PMAD-related struggles, or simply surprise at the path we’re on can make parenting difficult. Our “Beyond Expectation” Cafe topics are true affirmations of the TMC tagline: “No one is alone” as we join our panelists in sharing stories and holding space for each other.

Our programs are FREE and OPEN to the public. See details below for information regarding our FREE childcare, up to age four.

As always, we will also be broadcasting via Facebook Live!

Our Cafe mornings close with peer-led small groups on Pregnancy/Birth, Infancy (0-6 months, 6-12 months) and Parenting. During small group time, we are often able to offer Care Group for those walking through infertility, miscarriage and child loss.

Children under one, can stay right with you. For children between the ages of one and four, we offer FREE on-site childcare.

---Childcare slots are limited and registration is on a first come first serve basis. Childcare reservations will be accepted no sooner than a week prior to a Cafe event and can be made by e-mailing childcare@themotherhoodcollective.org with the following information:

  • Mother's full name/contact phone number/e-mail address

  • Child's full name

  • Child's Age and birth date

  • List any allergies or list "none"

  • First time in childcare: yes or no

Reservations will be secured in the order that they are received. Once childcare for the event is full, reservation requests will be added to the wait-list and mother will be informed if a slot becomes available. Thank you. If you have sent an email and have not received a response within 48 hours please text (540) 797-2926 to inquire. Thanks!
